Meet the scholarship recipient: Mona Hanna

Fun fact: Her name translates to “wish” in Arabic because her mom’s wish was to have a baby girl.

After taking 7 Advanced Placement and 2 Honors classes, Mona will graduate from Brookfield East High School with a weighted grade point average of 4.207. She plays the oboe in the Wind Ensemble and took part in the PIT orchestra for the school musical. She is the Color Guard captain, a member of the French Club, the Key Club and Link Crew— a club that mentors and assists incoming freshmen in their transition to high school. A teacher writes that “Mona takes a great deal of pride in her work, is tenacious in asking questions, and willing to put in any extra time needed to achieve success.” She is enrolled in the College of Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she will be a Pre-Elementary major.
