Described as a “reliable person with solid decision-making skills, an impressive work ethic and professional maturity,” Hayden is pursuing a degree in nursing at Marquette University. In high school, he was a team captain and varsity letter winner in cross-country and track. As part of the Boy Scouts of America, he became an Eagle Scout working on a project that developed a 1,000-square-foot community garden for residents of a low-income housing facility. He was vice president of the Best Buddies Club, where he assisted students with disabilities. At Marquette, Hayden carries a 3.1 grade point average and serves as a Resident Assistant on campus. He plans to work in a VA hospital before returning to graduate school to obtain a nurse practitioner degree.
