Fun fact: She just ran her first-ever half marathon — the Kings and Queens Half Marathon in Pewaukee, WI!
Gianna is entering her sophomore year at Duke University, majoring in Middle Eastern Studies & Political Science. With a 3.84 grade point average, she has been elected as a Senator on Duke Student Government. She tutors low-income students, volunteers at the Veterans Administration Hospital, and is active in Duke INJAZ—an organization connecting Duke students with Arabic-speaking refugees in the Durham area. A teacher describes Gianna as being, “bright and funny, thoughtful, and a consistently excellent performer who demands the best of herself in her classes”.
