Meet the scholarship recipient: Hannah Ziton

Fun fact: She can speak Spanish.

Hannah will enter her junior year at the University of Cincinnati with a 3.991 grade point average. She is pursuing a degree in Biomedical Engineering, and her advanced program allows her to graduate with both an undergraduate and master’s degree at the same time. She has played the violin since third grade and continues playing as a member of the non-music major symphony in college. She has been heavily involved with the Society of Orthodox Youth Organization (SOYO), serving as President of her parish SOYO and Vice President of SOYO for the Diocese of Toledo and the Midwest. She has been a Special Olympics coach and an officer for the Volunteer Committee at Youth Challenge —a Cleveland organization that pairs physically disabled participants with volunteers for various recreational activities. Her passion lies in working with individuals with disabilities, and she dreams of designing customized orthotics or other devices to make life easier for them.
