Meet the scholarship recipient: Jeremy Shaw

Jeremy graduates from Elsberry High School with a grade point average of 3.31 and an extensive record of school activities. These activities range from four years on the varsity baseball team to four years as a member of the school’s chapter of Future Farmers of America (FFA). In FFA, he participated in competitions, public speaking events, raising livestock and earning the prestigious Chapter Degree. He also helped sandbag people’s homes and roadways during the 2019 flood. As a member of the Explorers Club, he tutored students from pre-k through 6th grade. He regularly volunteers at St. Raymond’s Maronite Cathedral and continues the Jaboor family tradition of running the cake booth each year at the St. Louis Lebanese Festival.

He will begin his collegiate studies at St. Charles Community College in pursuit of a degree in Exercise Science.  His school counselor notes that “Jeremy has maintained a reputation for kindness, respect, and responsibility throughout his high school years. I would personally trust Jeremy with any task.”
