Meet the scholarship recipient: Madeleine Herro

Madeleine will graduate from Hartford Union High School with a 3.7 grade point average. Beyond the classroom, she has been an active member of several sports teams—including soccer—a sport she will continue playing in college. Her school involvement includes membership in the National Honor Society, Model United Nations, and Casa Guadalupe. She has volunteered for Salvation Army activities and several Habitat for Humanity projects through her church where she focused on drywalling, window framing, and landscaping. One of her teachers notes that “Madeleine is a mature, intelligent, and self-motivated young woman. She was always willing to take leadership roles during group projects.”

Maddy will begin her collegiate studies as a Biology major at Wisconsin Lutheran College. The college offers a 3 + 3 year program with the Medical College of Wisconsin, a program that will enable her to become a Pharmacist
