Meet the scholarship recipient: Maryrose Ghassan

Fun fact: She traveled to 7 different countries while studying in Rome for 4 months, and she is the granddaughter of past MFASLC president George Antoon.

Maryrose will carry a B+ average into her senior year at Loyola University Chicago where she is majoring in nursing. Her dream is to become a pediatric oncology nurse and be able to provide medical care at a free clinic in her father’s village in Lebanon. As a member of Loyola Chicago Alpha Delta Pi sorority, she served as their Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Chair. In addition to raising funds for the RMHC, she continues to volunteer there. She has also volunteered at Edwards Hospital in Naperville (Healthy Driven) and served as a religious education teacher in her parish. Her nursing professor writes: “She has a positive attitude and a focused energy; she is a very responsible individual who takes her commitments seriously.”
